2012 Kentucky Derby Post Positions of Contenders Announced

The 2012 Kentucky Derby is set to begin on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

Horse racing fans will surely be thrilled on who will win this year’s 138th Kentucky Derby who will follow the footsteps of Animal Kingdom, last year’s Kentucky Derby winner who won at a time of 2:02.04.

Also known as “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports“, this year’s Kentucky Derby horse race will be televised in the US on the NBC with a post time at 6:24pm Eastern Time, as reported by website.

Gates at the Churchill Downs will be opened at 8am Eastern Time and at around 4 pm in the afternoon, the red carpet will be rolled out for celebrities to walk in.

Last Thursday, May 2, 2012, the field for this year’s 2012 Kentucky Derby was announced which determined the post positions of the contenders. Daddy Long Legs together with jockey Colm O’Donoghue got the top post.

Officially, there are twenty contender horses who will be vying for this year’s 2012 Kentucky Derby.
