Jessica Sanchez Top 3 American Idol Performances: “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” and “I”ll Be There” (Video)

Jessica Sanchez sang three different songs during her performance night at the American Idol 2012 Top 3 on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, competing with the other last two remaining contestants Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet. Videos of all her performances are available below.

As featured on Fox on Wednesday night, the American Idol Season 11 Top 3 finalists sang three songs each; first was chosen by the three judges, second was the song contestants chose to sing, and third one picked by mentor Jimmy Iovine.

In Round 1, Jessica Sanchez, 16, who will be youngest American Idol winner if she wins, was the second performer on each of the three rounds and sang “My All” by Mariah Carey, with the three judges giving her good comments.

Randy Jackson told Jessica that her performance was “absolutely beautiful” and is the right song for her; while Jennifer Lopez noted that it was a hard song but she did it beautiful in her own way; and Steven Tyler said that she can make people hang on her every note in a ‘crazy way’.

“That was absolutely beautiful, perfectly the right song for you,” says Randy Jackson, adding: “I’m telling you what, I think it’s one of the best times a Mariah song has ever been performed on TV.”

“Hard song!” Jennifer Lopez exclaimed. “But you did it so beautifully, and you did it in your own way. You didn’t even go for the big part at the end, and I love that,” she added.

“When you sing, you make people hang on your every note,” says Steven Tyler. “I hope you just get used to encore. In another crazy way, you’ll be the last one standing here, I believe,” he added.

For Round 2, Jessica Sanchez has chosen to sing “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith, with the band’s lead vocalist Steven Tyler telling her that it was a great song and made it greater. Jennifer said it was a good job, while Randy told her that she has chosen some rough songs but has done it.

“Well, you just took a great song and made it greater. Thank you,” says Steven Tayler. “Yeah, yeah, you did!” he adds.

“You do not know what a big deal that is,” Jennifer Lopez tells Jessica. “That was amazing. Really, really great job, baby,” she added.

“You’re choosing some really tough hills to climb,” Randy Jackson said.

For Round 3 where Jessica sang “I’ll Be There” by The Jackson Five, Randy told her that he liked it but didn’t love it and that there was never a ‘moment’, with Jennifer and Steven said she had a perfect choice of song and that she had a perfect tone in her voice.

“Perfect song, perfect voice, you nailed it, delicious,” Steven says.

“It was perfect tone in your voice,” says Jennifer Lopez, adding: “You almost sounded like Michael.”

“Once again, we’re at the end here, and you’re on the stage with all these other dynamic singers. There was never a moment..moment,” says Randy Jackson.
